Hello friends! Even though it is just now December, things have been looking festive at our house for quite awhile. I am hoping to do a small holiday tour of our house, but for starters I wanted to share a glimpse of our dining room. More specifically our table all set with Christmas dishes and decor! The table itself belonged to my great-grandparents’ and my dad estimates that its from the 1920’s. He is also bringing me the chairs that match the table soon, and I can’t wait to see it all put together again.
The sweet little Christmas tree dishes were my mom’s. She decided to gift them to me once I got married and they are so special! In high school and college, I loved helping her set our table with them and think of new ways to decorate it. Its a tradition I hope to one day pass on to my daughter.
I layered two burlap runners from the dollar spot at Target underneath the dishes and used simple red chargers to bring in some more color. The green napkins were my mom’s too, but I think I might look for some plaid ones to replace them with to make things a little more casual and rustic.
I decided to keep the centerpiece pretty simple to let the dishes and also the Christmas tree in our dining room shine. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved the ballet The Nutcracker and now have a pretty sizable collection of nutcrackers myself. I plopped one of the smaller guys into a glass cloche from the clearance section of Hobby Lobby and placed a faux evergreen wreath around that. And voila! The easiest and cutest centerpiece ever.
Do you deck out your dining room for Christmas, too? Most spaces in our house don’t escape without some Christmas cheer!
I also just got a new camera so bear with me while I try to improve my struggling photography and hopefully improve the quality of my pictures!
