Our daughter’s room gets a huge (and surprisingly easy) update with floral wallpaper in week two of the One Room Challenge.

Well y’all, this was the week of the One Room Challenge that I was the most anxious (and excited) for. Wallpaper week! If you missed week one, catch up on the design for our oldest daughter’s pink and girly room before going any farther.
As I mentioned before, Ava’s room was bland and builder basic. It needed some punch and wallpaper seemed the perfect solution. I chose four different wallpapers from Milton & King, then let Ava pick out her favorite. She was adamant about wanting the Botanical design, and I think she made a fabulous choice! It includes all of her favorite colors, coordinates well with her vintage appliqué quilt, and features the most stunning watercolor design.
Since I’m a newbie to wallpaper (unless you consider removing layers of borders from five rooms in our blue house), I was initially a little intimidated by the process of hanging it. Thankfully, I’m here to report that wallpapering is not as intimidating as it seems! I completed the whole wall by myself while my kids were being needy little stinkers. (A bit of real #momlife for y’all there!) So believe me when I say that if I can do it, so can you!
What I used:
- Zinsser Shieldz Primer/Sealer
- 2in paint brush
- All purpose paint roller and tray
- Tape measure
- Wallpaper paste
- Milton & King wallpaper
- Step stool
- Covered razor blade
I’m not going to write out a tutorial for installing the wallpaper because the good folks over at Milton & King have already done an amazing job at it. Their wallpapers come with a small, handy booklet that gives you step-by-step instructions along with helpful illustrations. I also highly recommend you visit Milton & King’s FAQ page. Its chock full of great information! If you would like to see snippets of the installation process, head over to my Instagram stories to see several videos of me hanging the wallpaper in real time.
Enough talking! Now lets get to the pretty. And, y’all, this paper is so pretty.
I cannot get over what a difference it has made in Ava’s room. It looks like a completely different space!
Ava loves it, too, which makes my mama heart so happy. She even hugged the wall after I got done!
The detail in each flower is unbelievable, y’all. They make me weak in the knees.
A huge thank you to Milton & King for making all of my wallpaper dreams for Ava’s room come true. I cannot rave about it enough. I’m smitten. Ava’s smitten. And now I want to wallpaper all the things.
