Without further ado, welcome to my favorite Christmas room…
Ava’s pink princess room got a sweet Nutcracker themed makeover for Christmas. We both love it so much, though, that I think it may stick around well beyond the holidays!
A little backstory for ya first. I grew up dancing and continued on through college, even minoring in dance. One of my very favorite films growing up was The Nutcracker performed by The NYC Ballet and featuring McCauley Culkin. (Yep, I said McCauley Culkin!) Last Christmas, I introduced Ava to it and she was obsessed. (Be still my dance loving heart.) We watched it on repeat last holiday season and then sporadically throughout the year.
I loved having our bedroom decorated for Christmas so much last year that I decided to deck Ava’s out this year, too. Naturally, The Nutcracker was an easy theme to choose. The first step was her new bedding from Beddy’s. Pink ruffles set a gorgeous base for cozy pillows and this vintage quilt I found at Goodwill.
Step two was refinishing my dad’s childhood dresser.
As soon as I spotted this pretty little rose gold tree would be the perfect addition to Ava’s Christmas room. A few shatterproof rose gold ornaments and some ribbon from Hobby Lobby gave it some extra oomph and sparkle. The Nutcracker and Clara ornaments came from my own stash.
The rest of her room got decked with bottle brush trees and twinkle lights from the Target dollar spot…
…Nutcrackers from Hobby Lobby…
…and these adorable Nutcracker themed prints from Bella Adele Co.
The gold foil prints of Clara and the Nutcracker Prince were perfect for this blank wall. And I couldn’t resist updating the letter board with a festive quote… that includes dancing of course!
I also brought out one of my very favorite books from my childhood.
If you were wondering about my furry little model/sidekick – Ella got hurt somehow a few days ago and has been sticking pretty close to my side. Although she’s definitely on the mend since she was able to follow me up the stairs. And photobomb almost every single photo I took in here.
Over all, this room is girly, still very pink and oh so festive for my little princess and ballerina loving girl. Seeing her happy in this space makes me so very happy. In fact, she has requested a Nutcracker themed birthday party so we will be putting many of these items to extra good use!
The next stop on our little Favorite Rooms blog hop is Bree from The Homemaking Momma. Bree is a master of hygge. I know you will love her cozy Christmas space!
