I knew when we moved into our new house that Ava’s room was one of the first I wanted to tackle. She’s been through so much since January and I wanted to make sure that she felt safe and at home here. Getting a bed and new bedding was first on the list because we didn’t have either of those things when we moved in!
Ava had Beddy’s in her last room, so I was anxious to get her another set. Since the fire, I’ve tried to re-buy a lot of the same items we previously had to help things feel familiar to both the girls and myself. That’s helped so much in combating some of my anxieties that come from so many changes at once.
This time, I went for the Chic White bedding and bedskirt instead of the same Vintage Blush Beddy’s Ava had in her previous room. Its such a classic choice and my hope is that it will grow well with Ava through the years.
If you’re unfamiliar with Beddy’s, its a unique bedding system that’s all once piece and zips up the sides.
You put the whole thing on like a fitted sheet and then zip the top layer up or down. Ava was having some trouble sleeping here and as soon as her Beddy’s came in, she started sleeping great again! She said she felt safe and sound. Music to my mama ears! I also love how it keeps her almost cocooned in. She can be a crazy sleeper, and I no longer worry about her falling out of bed thanks to her Beddy’s.
I also love Beddy’s bedskirts. They fit over the boxsprings like a fitted sheet so they don’t wiggle and move around constantly. They have literally thought of everything!
Another perk is that it is so easy for Ava to make her bed herself. She just simply zips it up and puts her pillows on (and then covers it with a million stuffed animals!). She loves to make her bed look pretty and definitely likes everything to be in its place. Wonder where she gets that from?!
We’ve got big plans for this new room of hers. I’m so happy with how its coming along. It definitely got kicked off to a great start with pretty and practical bedding. Stay tuned for the full plan for her “Pink Princess Room”!
