A simple Christmas home tour filled with greenery, touches of blue and red, cozy twinkle lights and a flocked tree with rustic touches.
Happy Tuesday, y’all and welcome to our simple Christmas home tour! Thank big you to Kelly from North Country Nest for organizing this tour. At the end of my post you’ll find links to all of the bloggers sharing their homes throughout this week. I have to say, there is so much wonderful inspiration coming from my fellow bloggers, and I hope you’ll check them out!
Christmas in our new home has been so joyous, yet also a little bittersweet for me. I think knowing that the anniversary of our house fire is coming up and looking back at pictures from last Christmas are hitting me in the feels a bit. So instead of stressing about our Christmas decor, or lack thereof, since we had to start over from scratch, I decided to keep things simple and focus on soaking up this season with my family. Things can change in the blink of an eye, as we learned firsthand in January, and I want to cherish the season we’re in.
Enough chatting. Grab yourself a cup of coffee or cocoa and welcome to our home!
To make things easier on myself, I included blue in our colors since a majority of our decor is already blue.
By doing that, I was able to reuse almost all of the previous season’s decor and only added a few festive things to bring in some red.
I switched out our previous gallery wall in favor of this symmetrical arrangement and filled the frames with free printables from Bless’er House.
You can’t beat free decor! There were two blank frames so I added these wreaths, which are actually candle wreaths from Hobby Lobby.
Our tree is one of my very favorite things this year! Its the 7.5ft King Flock tree from King of Christmas and its stunning in person.
I decked it in grapevine garland for some texture, a variety of shatterproof ornaments from Walmart and Michael’s, and a few woodland-y birds.
I love the blend of shiny ornaments and rustic touches.
The electric fireplace is a new addition and has greatly added to the coziness of the season. I dressed it up with faux garland that I added different greenery picks to, twinkle lights, plaid ribbon and new stockings.
Since we eat most meals in the dining room, I like to keep things simple on a day to day basis. I did dress up the table for a festive tablescape a few weeks ago though!
Our stairs received a similar treatment to the fireplace. I started by swagging basic faux garland and attaching it with zip ties (My new favorite secret weapon!). Then I cut up several floral bushes and picks and added them in to fill it out.
More twinkle lights and ribbon finished off the look. So simple yet impactful!
I hope y’all have enjoyed getting a glimpse into our home this season. We are loving it and are so happy to share it with you! Be sure to check out the other tours going on this week, too. They are all so good!
