“And all at once, Summer collapsed into Fall.” – Oscar Wilde
The best description of Autumn in the South. One day its 90 degrees and the next its 65. Outside, we are still hovering somewhere in between, but inside our home, its Fall all the way.
I’m so thrilled to be sharing our simple Fall home tour today as a part of the Farmhouse Fall Home Tours hosted by Kendra of Joy in our Home. If you are visiting from Aratari at Home, I’m so glad you are here! Lindsey’s house is so charming and welcoming, isn’t it?! This has been an unusual (you can read all about it here) year for us, so the name of this year’s Fall game is simplicity.
Without any further ado, grab a hot cup of coffee and welcome to our simple Fall home.
This year has been a year of change, growth and learning. I was so distraught at losing all my decor (as silly as that sounds) after the fire, but now its liberating. No big boxes of things to lug out and dig through. Starting over was intimidating at first, but now I’m relishing in the simplicity its afforded us. Our simple Fall decor is a direct product of that.
In the name of simplicity, I decided to work with the colors already throughout our house for our Fall decor. You’ll find different shades of blue accented with warm wood and pops of gold for a Fallish, festive touch.
Since I’m still in the process of purchasing every day decor for our home, I also decided to forego traditional Fall decor and looked instead for pieces that will work beyond Autumn.
By layering textures and adding some small pumpkins, both real and faux, I was able to create the cozy feeling I associate with Fall without spending a ton of money on items that will get stored away for the majority of the year.

This blanket from Magnolia’s line at Target has been floating all around our house. Its made it to our living room, bedroom and even dining room. I love having a cohesive feel throughout our house for exactly this reason.
Clara even got in on the decorating. Kind of.
Since we eat most of our meals in the dining room, I kept our table simple.
My favorite decor trick for high traffic areas is placing items on a tray to make the whole thing easy to move. A few amber bottles from Joann’s, baby boo pumpkins and faux floral stems created the perfect, simple centerpiece.
Our kitchen received a similar treatment.
Mini pumpkins, blue kitchen towels and warm colors create a simple Fall feel. Our new kitchen island also got decked out with this amazing dried wreath from Trader Joe’s.
For me, Fall wouldn’t be complete without an apple flavored treat. Pumpkin spice isn’t my jam, but apples…. yum! This caramel apple tart also from Trader Joe’s barely made it into the pictures.
And full disclosure – I ate the whole thing all by myself.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Fall is my favorite season and this one is shaping up to be one of the best yet. Don’t forget to check out the amazingly talented bloggers linked below. North Country Nest is the next stop on the blog hop today and you don’t want to miss Kelly’s Fall decor!
