Hello lovely friends! I’m here today to share the tablescape I came up with to transition our dining room from Summer to Fall. I often find that decorating during the transitional periods between seasons is the most challenging. Do I go with summer-y things? Is it too early for pumpkins? I think I’ve found a nice middle ground to honor the last few days of Summer and slowly greet the cool crispness of Fall.
Calming neutrals such as a linen tablecloth and bright white serving pieces as well as the warmth of the bread board are all wonderful bases to use when building a tablescape. Those same principles are great to follow when putting together any vignette or even a room for that matter.
The crisp blue and white pattern of these antique dishes function as another neutral. They work in any season and setting and with almost every accent color.
Take your cues from nature. Bring in flowers and other natural items that are in season. Sunflowers and apples are my favorites to use in late Summer well on into Fall. Stalks of wheat are another great option to use to add texture and warmth.
It all pulls together to create a warm and inviting dining room that flawlessly transitions between Summer and Fall.
